Employment at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Employment in and by the Catholic Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior and teachings must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be an active, practicing Catholic in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
St. Peter’s School in Canby has the following three open positions:
Full time Kindergarten Teacher. The teaching duties include all day Kindergarten along with a specialty area as decided upon by the principal and applicant. MN teacher licensure or at minimum working towards a teaching degree is required. Catholic religion is preferred but not required. Any MN teaching license or in the process of acquiring a teaching license meets qualifications. Contact Mrs. Rangaard to inquire further about any required qualification.
Part-time Music Teacher for grades K-6. Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching Music for three half-days per week (11 hours / week contracted time), playing music for weekly school Mass, and assisting with the school’s Christmas Program. Music or Elementary teaching license and Catholic religion preferred but not required. Interested candidates could have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution; or at a minimum demonstrate proficiency in Music. Those working towards a music degree are also encouraged to apply.
Administrative Assistant for St. Peter’s School. This is a 9 month, 37.5 hours per week position. Extra days are allotted before and after the school year to prepare for and finalize the year. Good communication skills, organization, computer skills, and self-motivation are key components to the job.
